Robert Taylor (20th Century)
Taylor, an Army veteran of St. Petersburg, Florida, died on May 20, 2008, at the age of 78.
He had worked with printed media since selling newspapers at the age of 9 in Newark, New Jersey. He later worked at the Providence (Rhode Island) Journal and received the prestigious Russell Sage fellowship in journalism and behavioral sciences at Columbia University.
In 1978, he started his own publishing company specializing in periodicals in specialty and regional markets. He also freelanced and wrote several books.
A longtime member of the American Humanist Association, Taylor was survived by his wife, Barbara Taylor, and three children.
