Talk:Sidney Hook
From Philosopedia
Perhaps more should be said about Hook's earlier Marxist commitments and his subsequent turning against Marxism. I discussed some of this a review that I once wrote of his early book, Towards the Understanding of Karl Marx which was originally published in 1933 and was never again reissued during his lifetime because he, as the author, having repudiated that book's political outlook, decided to suppress it. It was his son, Ernest Hook, who would later have it republished by Prometheus.
