Reading from his latest book in an audio clip made available by Zooba.com, Kurt Vonnegut discusses the joke question, "What's the white stuff in bird poop?" He says the answer is: "That's bird poop too." Because the ear tends to hear that as "...bird poop two," which distracts the mind and reduces the jokey impact a bit, I think that when delivered verbally a better answer is "That's also bird poop." An alternative answer would be "I guess you don't know shit, do you?" but that works better with a more elaborate story about the horse, the cow and the rabbit who all eat the same grass in the pasture.
