Stevo Zigon (8 December 1926 - 28 December 2005)

Žigon was born in Ljublijana and became a well-known Serbian actor, theatre director, and writer.

In 1941 an atheist when 14, he was a member of Communist Youth League and joined in the group's actions involving sabotage. Captured in 1942, he was imprisoned at Dachau (prisoner #61185).

In 1952 he graduated from Belgrade's Academy for Theatre Arts and, having a knowledge of the German language and manners, played cold and cynical Germans, becoming best-known for playing "Krüger", chief of Belgrade Gestapo, in a 1970s TV series Otpisani and Povratak otpisanih.

His wife, Jelena, and daughter, Ivana, also were actresses.

He died of heart problems.
