Abbott, Ruth T. (20th Century)

Abbott, a published poet, was a humanist activist in North Wilbraham, Massachusetts.

To the Humanist Newsletter (September-October 1953), she wrote, “I have written a card to Station WBZA, Springfield, Massachusetts, protesting substitution for our Dr. [Horace] Kallen broadcast this morning–instead, we had a Methodist bishop! I admire Kallen’s humanism from my inmost heart, and I agree to almost every word.”
