Pawelek, John (1942β )
A senior research scientist in dermatology and a lecturer in pharmacology at Yale University, Pawelek was raised a Lutheran but is an active member of the Unitarian Society of New Haven, Connecticut.
One of his inventions is a sunblock that doubles as a medication for vitiligo, a blotchy-skin condition that results from the failure of some melanin cells to produce pigment.
Pawelek has called himself βan optimistic agnostic.β
