A first, the work critiques reincarnation and concludes that empirical and conceptual objections to reincarnation and karma are so strong that the ideas are sheer nonsense. Edwards is thorough and witty, even riotously funny, and he is pleased if he is described as having an “irrepressible Voltairean sense of humor.”
