Michael S. Levy (21 October 1945 - )

Levy, of Johannesburg, South Africa, attended the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, where he majored in philosophy in 19___

A musicologist and a member of GALHA, he has worked for the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) for thirty-five years, retiring in 2008.

Levy's view concerning religion, he has written, is that it is similar to that of Sigmund Freud:

  • [It] is so patently infantile, so foreign to reality, that to anyone with a friendly attitude to humanity it is painful to think that the great majority of mortals will never be able to rise above this view of life.
