Brereton, J. Lloyd (1901—1977)

Joseph Lloyd Brereton Jr., the founder in 1967 and an editor of the Humanist in Canada, signed Humanist Manifesto II.

In 1977, he received the Canadian Humanist of the Year Award.

He has been termed the most influential figure in the early development of the Canadian humanist movement.
