Kim Alison Gandy (25 January 1954 - )

"Not the church, not the state, women must choose their fate," chanted hundreds of members of the National Organization for Women in 2005 when Gandy spoke in Boston at a time that she was running for re-election as President of the National Organization for Women (NOW). Gandy was elected as NOW's president in 2001 and is a leading feminist organization executive.

An assistant district attorney in New Orleans (1978-1979), she has had her own private practice since 1979.

In 2006 in Tampa, Florida, she was awarded the American Humanist Association's Humanist Distinguished Service Award.
