John Allen
From Philosopedia
Allen, John (1771—1843)
Allen, a physician and writer, practiced and lectured at Edinburgh until 1801, then accompanied Lord Holland and his family to Spain for a four-year position.
At Holland House, he was known as “Lady Holland’s Atheist” and was “a complete sceptic,” doubting if Christ had ever existed. From 1820 to 1843, Allen was master at Dulwich College.
