Albee, John (1833—1915)

Albee was an American writer who abandoned the orthodox theology in which he had been trained for the liberal theism or pantheism of Emerson. In Remembrances of Emerson (1903), Albee wrote, “Growth Ends With The Birth of Creeds.”
