Johan Bojer
From Philosopedia
Bojer, Johan (6 March 1872 - 3 July 1959)
Bojer, a famed Norwegian novelist, was, according to Llewellyn Jones, a naturalistic humanist. The Power of a Lie (1903) and The Great Hunger (1916) are cited as examples of his fiction containing humanistic philosophy.
Of his philosophic outlook, he wrote Warren Allen Smith,
- I am proud to learn that it is felt my two novels, The Great Hunger and The New Temple, are worthy of being mentioned among the works of Thomas Mann and other masters. You are dealing with a very interesting subject, and I fully agree with your opinion that the two express my outlook on humanism.
