J. Talbot Winchell (20th Century)

Winchell was interested in philosophy and general semantics.

In the mid-1950s, he was an associate editor of The Humanist, at a time when Ed Wilson was its editor and Priscilla Robertson was about to succeed him.

The Institute of General Semantics presents an annual J. Talbot Winchell Award to "an individual who has significantly furthered the spread of general semantics."

Correspondence

Letters from Winchell to the book review editor of The Humanist, Warren Allen Smith, reveal his humor and interests.
