Humanist Association of Massachusetts (HAM)

The Massachusetts Chapter of the American Humanist Association, one of its 65 local groups, engages in a variety of activities. Monthly meetings on current issues are held and are open to the public. An extensive library of humanist publications is available. A newsletter is distributed with details concerning forthcoming events. Projects such as Smart Recovery and assistance to secular groups in Asia are arranged.

One of its members, Thomas Ferrick, founded the Harvard Chaplaincy in 1974. As Humanist Chaplain of Harvard's Office of the United Ministry, he works with student and faculty freethinkers.

Humanism is listed among twenty-six religions represented on Harvard's Board of Ministry, an umbrella organization.
