Baccelli, Guido (1832—1916)

Baccelli was an Italian statesman who, after the fall of the Papacy, entered the Camera (1875) and sat with the Anti-Clericals.

He was four times Minister of Public Instruction, and to him is due the reorganization of Italian education, which the Popes had left in a disgraceful state.

Baccelli was a prominent Freemason and a rationalist.
