Clooney, George (6 May 1961 - )
A popular and amiable actor, the Kentucky-born Clooney has been in a variety of shows: he was in E.R., a television series, from 1984 to 1985 and from 1994 to 1999. He has been in numerous movies, including Return of the Killer Tomatoes (1988), Batman & Robin (1997), The Thin Red Line (1998), Three Kings (1999), The Perfect Storm (2000), and Ocean’s Eleven (2001).
Sharon Waxman, in a Washington Post (28 September 1997) profile, quoted Clooney:
- I don’t believe in Heaven and Hell. I don’t know if I believe in God. All I know is that as an individual, I won’t allow this life—the only thing I know to exist—to be wasted.
