Dwain Deets

Dwain Deets (16 April 1939)

Deets is Editor-in-Chief of Secular Nation. He began these duties in October, 2006. 

Prior to that, he was editor of the San Diego Association for Rational Inquiry (SDARI) newsletter, Rational Inquiry, from April, 2004, through February, 2006. He was layout editor for Atheist United’s newsletter, Rational Alternative, from November, 2002, through September, 2006.  

Deets is a member of both the board and council of Atheist Alliance International (AAI), and he leads AAI’s Individual Members Group.  

He is the marketing director and a founding board member for Camp Quest West.  

Deets retired from NASA Dryden Flight Research Center in December, 1999, after 37 years as a flight research engineer.  

He and his wife, Cathy, reside in Encinitas, California.
