Adam, Charles (Born 1857)

A French philosopher, Adam taught in several universities and became rector of the Nancy Academy and a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.

He edited works of Descartes and in his La Philosophie en France (1894) wrote,

  • Philosophy and politics leave theses to theology, which digs them up from a remote past, and are modestly content with hypotheses.
