Carl Rogers
From Philosopedia
Rogers, Carl Ransom (8 January 1902 - 4 February 1987)
Rogers was one of the founders of humanistic psychology, a movement that religious fundamentalists dislike because of its emphasis on autonomy, not on self-surrender and obedience, as is the Judeo-Christian emphasis.
He wrote Becoming Partners: Marriage and Its Alternatives (1977).
In 1964, the American Humanist Association named him Humanist of the Year.
