Carrera, Asia (6 August 1973 - )

An actress in adult films, Carrera (who was born Jessica Steinhauser) told Luke Ford, in a profile entitled “Bud & Hyapatia & Asia: Porn in the Family,” that

  • I’ve always been an atheist. Science explains everything. There is no meaning in life except to be the best at something. If only I could be the best at something, perhaps my parents would love me. . . . Religion is silly. When you’re dead, you turn into a source for future flowers and plans. . . . I don’t know what’s on the other side of death and it scares me. Darkness and nothingness scare me. I’d rather face the miseries of my day-to-day life than turn into darkness.

Carrera's father was Japanese, her mother German, and she had four siblings.

She attended Red Bank Regional High School in New Jersey, performed as a musician at Carnegie Hall twice before the age of 15, and at the age of 16 she taught English at Tsuruga College in Japan. At the age of 17 she ran away from home and won a full academic scholarship to Rutgers University. She is a member of Mensa.

Carrera maintains a "buttkicking" homepage, in which she states that she has retired from porn, is a mother of two, has no plans ever to return to return, and describes husbands Bud Lee (from 9/95 to 9/03, the father of her daughter) and Don Lemmon, who died in a car accident before their son was born.
