Abu Tahir (Died 943)

Abu Tahir al Karmatti, the chief of a freethinking sect at Bahrain on the Persian Gulf, captured Mecca (930) with a small number of followers, taking away a revered black stone. He also imprisoned Abissaj, the head of 30,000 men whom the caliph had sent against him.
